News Just In- NO SURRENDER!

A major security operation was being mounted at Renfrewshire City Council today to ensure no repeat of the violence of previous years when the Labour group clashed with the will of the electorate.

Labour members from all over Scotland were arriving at the council this morning and attempting to march back into control of Renfrewshire - despite a nationalist and lib dem coalition taking control of the council.

However, they were due to find their way blocked, the other parties believe in some sort of democracy and following votes by members of the public, Labour have been cast out of office.

Large numbers of troops with heavy equipment worked throughout yesterday to make sure any attempt by Labour Party members to reach the flash point of the council chamber was blocked.

The heavy barrier traditionally used to block the road below the council was in place early today.

Fences of razor wire also stretched across the fields to ensure Terry Kelly couldn't get around the main steel barriers.

Police have vowed to provide as low key a presence while the Renfrewshire Labour group struggle to understand what has happened. Initially supportive of democracy, when they thought the results would be as expected, the party has now launched an internal inquiry to establish just why the public have defied their orders.

Assistant Chief Constable Stephen White, in charge of the operation, said: “I intend to police this year’s event with as light a touch a possible, but if we have to stop people, we’ll do it in proportion to the numbers of people there and the threat which is posed, personally I'm shitting myself at the thought of the 'Barn Door Kellys' sitting on me. Last time round the Labour group used Rayleen as a battering ram, killing six officers in the process. As ever our thoughts are with their families at this terrible time”

An army spokesman said soldiers would also be maintaining a low-profile presence. However, he insisted more troops were stationed nearby if required to fend of the Kellys.

Violence has flared at the elections ever since the full implications of free elections became clear to the Renfrewshire Labour group. On election night trained negotiators were called to the home of Terry Kelly as he took to the roof screaming obscenities about First Minister Alex Salmond and his wife.

Terry Kelly has been banned from talking in the council chamber sinceMay 3rd 2007 because of the objections of his Labour colleagues who regard him as a liability, a move which has sparked Kellyist violence across Renfrewshire.

The authorities were criticised last year after scaled down security measures strained to cope with the wrath of Terry.

An army spokesman said the main barrier across the road today was smaller than that seen in earlier years, but harder to digest than the one which was eaten by Rayleen on election night.

Hopes were raised this year that an end to the Labour dictatorship may be in sight.

VOTE LABOUR!

NO SURRENDER!
